Sweet Honeysuckle Tree

Good day everyone. Hope all of you are enjoying your weekend. Wednesday evening I decided to take a walk since the weather was cool and windy. I love to watch the trees sway from side to side and smell vibrant flowers in the midst.

At the end of my street I turned the corner because I felt like the swing set was calling my name. I usually go for a walk in sneakers but I put on summer sunray sandals. I didn’t want to take the risk of getting hurt by the mulch beneath the swing in case I have to suddenly stop. However, I went anyway because it was a taste of freedom I was looking for since the morning.

I started swinging and the first push back I smelled sweet honeysuckle. The last time I smelled this flower was about 2 years ago when we removed the vines from our backyard. I turned around and saw the bush behind me.

The top right picture shows a fly resting on a leaf, do you see it?

At first, I thought it was just a bush of flowers. I was wrong, it turned out to be a hidden tree by the creek that had intertwined with its neighbor of pine trees.

I felt like I had discovered a fairy tale waiting to be explored. Yes, I was having a Chronicles  of Narnia moment when Lucy Pevensie discovers the wardrobe full of coats. By the time I took the picture of the honeysuckle tree, the sky changed from sunshine to cloudy weather. Rainfall was coming but I still stayed and took last minute pictures, even while leaving this small bit of paradise.

I can stand for hours and appreciate the beauty of honeysuckle flowers all day. Wouldn’t you agree with me?

  1. I can immerse myself in the smell and beauty of the flowers too. What a beautiful world we live in if we take time to appreciate it and all its wonders.
