A Last Minute Trip: Barnegat Lighthouse

Good afternoon everyone! Hope all of you are enjoying the weekend. We were grateful to drive out to Long Beach Island, New Jersey for a last-minute planned day trip with a family friend. All 6 of us arrived at Barnegat Light, a small town on the island that hosts a historic lighthouse that served as first-class navigational light.

Admission was $3.00/person. We entered the wooden doorway and looked straight up. The 217 steps we were about to embark on was no joke.

The color of the steps and railing was yellow with orange headlights below the stairs while climbing upwards.

While breathing deeply after reaching the 217th step, I saw fantastic and breath-taking views from the top of this magnificent light tower.

Chillin’ by the bay on my lounge beach chair. This is what life was meant to be….

Next stop: the beach, bay, and black and white montage of sea rock photography.

  1. There are so many beautiful Lighthouses, Many of them have a long and rich history with some having haunted or scary backstories. One with a long history is the Absecon Ligthouse in New Jersey. It is the tallest and one of the oldest in the state.
