6 Dimensions of Wellness: Spiritual

Spiritual wellness is about searching for our meaning and purpose. When you see commercials about entrepreneurs, most likely they will ask to the audience, “What is your purpose in life?”

Spirituality dives deep into who we really are and why are we here. Everyday, try to deepen your appreciation for yourself and those around you in the universe. In addition, when you walk down the path of spiritual wellness, there will be a peace-binding bridge between personal emotions and rough edges. The more you explore the root cause of these rugged edges, the higher your problem-solving ability will come into place. You must be open-minded and willing to make that change to free yourself from that specific barrier or road block.

Align your values and beliefs outside the heart. If you only talk and write about it, there is no meaning because you are not living on your values. You must be able to transcend yourself in order to question the meaning and purpose in your life and the lives of others.

Below are 4 questions to ask yourself when you are on the path to spiritual wellness:

  1. Do my values guide my decisions and actions?
  2. Am I accepting the view of others?
  3. Do I make time for meditation?
  4. Do I make time for relaxation everyday?

We all face ethical dilemmas during our work hours. Sometimes we are faced with bullies that are not reprimanded by human resources and love to get to the best of you. If they do, find yourself. If you loose yourself for more than 24 hours, you will be living alongside those rugged edges in your present and future path.

Take deep breadths. Count backwards. Trust me, it is hard when you want to live by your work ethic but forced to take non-calculated risks. Take a few minutes and think of the pros and cons. Follow that gut feeling because you won’t regret it. The truth hurts but it will be worth it in the long run. After leaving work, stop by your favorite coffee or tea shop. Try to stay away from alcohol because you don’t want it to become your stress-relieving habit.

Sit at that cafe and take come time to think on the positive parts of your day.

Be true to yourself and keeping searching for that meaning all throughout your life. Live life safely and accept others for who they are, even if they are not favorable in your eyes.

Make a difference in someone’s life by helping and healing them. In turn, you will help yourself along the way and find pieces to the puzzle you are continuously searching down your path for spiritual wellness.

Note to my readers: I know that spiritual wellness also involves prayer but this post is open to everyone, including Aetheist. Therefore, I didn’t include prayer in this article.
