6 Dimensions of Wellness: Emotional

Emotional wellness is a continuous process in where we are aware and accept our own feelings. This takes time and effort in validating how we feel and accepting who we are as people.

Attitudes and direction of how we think are linked to how we deal with irrational situations.

In our day-to-day lives, we have annoyances who bring us down. Those that have a regular habit of bullying and harassing others are emotionally unstable. In addition, they will strive to increase the behavior knowing the habit will not be stopped by those in higher authority.

You will be angry and upset because someone decided to put you down at the wrong time. We are all human beings and always try to better ourselves. Sometimes, we will encounter people who take disadvantage of particular situations by taking steps to throw people under the bus. Unfortunately this is the real world.

How much time does it take to validate how you feel in an irrational situation?

  • Depends on how strong you feel while being angry, mad, and upset. Time will tell is not a motivational answer. Realizing how and why you feel is a better response.

How do you deal with it?

  • Accept and be aware of how you are feeling. The more steps you take by accepting yourself for who you are and ethically driven, the more you will be open-minded on helping yourself be a better person. Always recognize yourself. Pat yourself on the back and say good job for sticking it through.
  • Relax yourself. Take a deep breath and exhale. Do this several times until you have calmed down.
  • If this does not work, count backwards. This does work, for me at least. The only way to REALLY deal with a negative feeling is to literally get yourself up and keep going up.
Walk down the path of being emotionally stable.

If possible, seek the assistance of your soul and support from others to help you get back on your feet. You cannot let yourself down. If you loose yourself then you are digging a deeper hole for your life than you think. Even if you look into the hole, you only see the surface and not the iceberg beneath it.

Turn your life switch back on full power and let your light shine the cloudy skies. Embrace your true self because you are beautiful and handsome.

Never let anyone tell you that you are worthless and not even you because to you are worth everything to me.

As Rachel Patten sings her last line in Fight Song, “Know I’ve still got a lot of fight left in me.”
